Show I MILFORD NINE SHOW GREAT IMPROVEMENT IN LYNNDYL GAME In the best base ball game played in Milford this season the local nine held Lynndyl to a four to three victory vic-tory Sunday. Though Milford lost the game by one score, its defeat was counted as a victory by the enthusiasts enthus-iasts in the grand stand, so great was the improvement of the team over what it has been in preceeding games. The pitching of Tom Gadberry for the first five innings was a delight to the customers. He was still going strong when he was replaced by Kimel Kim-el Coon who carried on the good work. Gadberry, a one time leaguer, has not pitched for a number of years. He was called upon to pitch for Edwards who is suffering from a sore arm. Backing up the battery was the air tight defense of the in-field. Tom Schow played first, Max Root, second, Jess Done, short and Butch Tanner, third. These worthies pulled one double play, Done to Root to Schow, and attempted three others that were so fast that the base umpire brought in his verdict with a guess and a prayer. pray-er. They were also a strength in the batting line up. Schow collected two hits, Root a hit and a run. Done, walked to first, managed to steal two bases and come galloping home; while Tanner collected a hit and a run. Two of these men, Schow and Tanner Tan-ner had been shifted in from the outfield. out-field. A new man who. got his first real chance Sunday was Easton who played play-ed center field and showed promising hitting ability. Livergood caught with his usual efficiency ef-ficiency and came out of a hitting slump with a three bagger in the eighth. The only weakness in the team last Sunday was the hitting. A. defect that will be overcome by intensive practice this week, according to Clifford Clif-ford Cook, who was elected manager last week to fill the place left vacant by the resignation of Pratt Root. Cook has had the boys practicing every night this week and is devoting most if the period to batting practice in preparation for a game with Minersville Miners-ville at Minersville Saturday and with Beaver at Beaver Sunday.
