Show Fillmore Reciprocates The following editorial frcm the Millard County Progress which hinges on the article, relative rel-ative to the visit to this county of Governor Spry and party, produced in a recent issue of the Chronicle, shows the spirit of the people of our county seat and tends to bring us all closer together togeth-er for the mutual benefit of the whole county. Now, if every individual will be fair with himself his brother, the county at large, all public enterprises en-terprises and the papers of the county whicn are doing everything every-thing possible to advance the best interests of the county, we will soon build up a mighty Inter-mountain Inter-mountain empire, composed of happy, contented, well-to-do people right here in Millard. The soil, water, climate and market mar-ket are here and await the coming com-ing of the husbandman and financier. fi-nancier. The interests of the people are the interests of the county and vice versa, and wnen we work for the upbuilding of the country we further our own interests. The newspapers work for the pjblic interests all the time, and each individual can help, by boosting for his own town or vicinity, and by helping to boost every other vicinity. "From the above sentimpnt, in the last issue of the Millard County Coun-ty Chronicle it will be readily seen that the whole county is rapidly becoming more united than ever before. This is as it should be for the old saying "United we stand, divided we fall", is as pertinent to Millard at this time as it ever was to the entire nation at the time of its utterance. We cannot hope to do without each other. We need the help of the entire county and must have it if we hope to accomplish anything looking to the betterment of conditions con-ditions in this county. There should be no east, no west, no north, or south, but we should all work together for the welfare of Millard as a whole. That this world is rapidly going forward as evidence by the fact of the sentiments recently expressed when the Governor and the other distinguished business men and bankers were here last week and also later by the sentiments expressed in 'the meeting whicn was held here last Saturdray in which a delegation from every town in West Millard met with a delegations from the towns of east Millard together with State Treasurer Jewkes and the State Road Commission and practically agreed on the new road from what is known as the Haw Bush to Delta, a full account of which appears elsewhere in this paper. The gentlemen from the western portion of our county fairly radiated rad-iated with the good things they had to say with regard to east Millard. If this sentiment can be encouraged and fostered as it should be it will not be long before be-fore we will have one of the greatest counties not only in the State of Utah, but the greatest in any State in the United States, Stat-es, The people of Fillmore and the east side heartily join with with the people of the "Greater" Delta country in the hearty handshake hand-shake and express the feeling that no opportunity will be lost, on their part, to foster and encourage en-courage the kindly feeling em-inating em-inating from our friends of that part of our vast county, and that every effort will be put forth in making Millard the greatest county coun-ty on earth." |
