Melville & Steele report the sale Saturday, of the Wilson ranch comprising 640 acres, under the Abraham Canal system, to Mr. Dan Livingston,, of Salt Lake City. This is one of the most famous ranches in Millard county coun-ty and we are pleased to note that Mr. Livingston, the present owner, is onecf the most successful success-ful ranchmen in Utah. We welcome wel-come such men and wish them all kinds of success. A. F. Anderson, of Riverside Cali., son of L. Anderson who has a fine, well improved ranch near Abraham, came in last week to remain for a while and familiarize himself with the country. Mr. Anderson ' was here three years ago and says he sees a great change in the country coun-try for the better since then. Mr. Anderson says his father contemplates contem-plates taking up his residence on the ranch this fail. At present he has a renter looking after it. especially by the dry farmers. We had with us the first three days of last week some Wagon Missionories, representing no one denomination but simply presenting pre-senting the greatest truths of the bible. Their meetings were fairly well attended while they were here. Mr. and Mrs. Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Brook, of the M. S. Academy and E. Stout, were here Tuesday night and gave a concert, consisting con-sisting of songs, music and speeches. They were traveling for the benefit of the Hinckley Mutual. A large crowd was present and every one enjoyed themselves. After the program a dance followed, which was a dandy goed one. The graduates of the eighth were learned Wednesday and made the students wear a broad smile. The graduates were as follows:. Willis Dutson,' Esdrus Finlinson, Marion Terry, Estella Anderson, Hyldia Christensen, and Wanda Alldridge. Mrs. Lem Roper, who has been in Salt Lake City for some time with her husband, who is under the doctors care, has returned re-turned home again and reports him on the improve. But he will not be able to return home for some time. We all wish for him a speedy recovery. The big rain storm of last week registered about 11 inches of waterfall. The eighth grade students left Sunday afternoon for Holden to attend the commencement exercises exer-cises which were held there Monday. Mon-day. John Alldridge spent Sunday in Leamington. Dutson met with a serious accident Monday while carrying water in a ten-gallon can to a barrel in a wagon. He started up the tongue and, it being wet made it slick and he slipped and fell on his left side, hurting himself inwardly. He has been unable to d any work at all, but is on the improve at present. Miss Maude Roper has another attack of puinsy, being confined to her bed. We have had another nice rain storm which was very welcome, |
