The agent Is at his office In Hinckley Coop Co-op and shall take pleasure In handing you a receipt any time you feel to call and hand us the required amount. We appreciate small amounts, as every little bit helps. Some of our farmers have begun cutting their hay, but It is not very promising duo to tho fact that there has been too much cold weather this season. We are expecting a good second sec-ond crop, as It is now warm weather and things are beginning to look very promising. William C. Curtis has Just complet-ihI complet-ihI his new frame house In Hinckley, and that Is not all there are four house In course of construction George A. Webb, frame; William II. Bishop and Kdwln Anderson, brick residence and borne; Richard Parker, of Abraham, Is erecting a nice brick home here also. We are glad to publish pub-lish that the brick used In erecting the above named constructions were manufactured by Messrs. Stout and Cushman at the Hickman Yard. They have plenty more and can supply you If you anticipate building this summer, sum-mer, and you should make arrangements arrange-ments for yours early. Our baseball manager gives notice that the team succeeded In winning a fast game from the deseret boys last Friday. We also wish to announce that we are ready and willing to defend de-fend our title as county champions, and would accept a challenge from like to waste so much lather ft) shaving shav-ing tho manager after we had defeated de-feated them on the square. Our boys cannot forget the Sclpio trip. They must have found something good over there. The liquor election is going off very quiet and every one seems to be dry. (From last week.) The correspondence for the last week did not reach the editor In time to be published but appears in this issue. Due to some irregularities the laurels won by our M. I. A. Basket Mall Team at the M. I. A. tournament, held on the 2nd and 3rd Inst at Salt Lake City, have not yet been reported. They met two seemingly successful teams from Idaho, but the final score showed a balance In favor of our boys. This Is an excellent showing and should encourage athletics In our town. The stork visited the home of Mr. nnd Mrs. I. II. Pratt last Sunday night and presented them with a bouncing boy. Mother and baby doing nicely. Our basketball boys returned from Sclpio Sunday afternoon. Although the local team were defeated they treated our boys royally, and they report re-port having a most excellent time. They were ready and willing at all times to sacrifice their own rights and privileges to the convenience of their visitors. Especially did the girls take a great Interest In entertaining the team and several have expressed themselves as desirous of meeting Sclpio on their own field every week. The manager of our club commented especially on the fairness and justness just-ness In decision of the referee. We expect to meet the Sclpio boys on our local field In the near future, and shall try to reciprocate their favors. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Stapley returned re-turned from Salt Lake Tuesday morning. morn-ing. A wedding reception was tendered tend-ered them at the home of the groom's parents. The older friends were ban-queued ban-queued In the afternoon and the young people enjoyed a very pleasant evening at games and luncheon. |
