Show Lynndyl Lines The Lynndyl ball team crossed cross-ed bats with Deseret last Thursday Thurs-day at Lynndyl. A very enjoyable enjoy-able game was played by both sides, and judging from the reputation rep-utation that Deseret already holds, it was expected that they would certainly win from Lynndyl. Lynn-dyl. This however was not so, because the home boys did some j very good work resulting in a ' win for them of 9 to 2. Our Des- j eret friends claim they were j short of some their best players, and probably this accounted for j their defeat. However, we have to plav a return game with them ' soon, and we will then find out whether or not, their shortage of players made any difference' to them. The most successful event of ; ths past week was the social entertainment and danc given by R. G. Watson, one of our citizens here, in honor of visiting friends from Lemington. The affair was practically of a private character. Special invitations being sent to . those who were expected to be present. No special music was provided other than that furnished furnish-ed by H. E. Wilkes as pianist, assisted by Mr. Carter. Mr. Wilkes Wil-kes demonstrated his powers as pianist, and his efforts were : much appreciated by all present. ; Light refreshments were seryed ; during the evening, and everyone ! present expressed themselves : very highly satisfied with the ; evening enjoyment. Many con- : gratulations are due Mr. Wat- : son on his ability as an entertain- 1 er, he is certainly right there ! with the goods. ! There was no celebration here ; on the 24th. Practically all who ; could get away went to Salt Lake ; City, and neigh-boring towns. Mrs. C. A. Brown and children . who have beei visiting with Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Jones, Mrs. Browns parents, left here Wednesday Wed-nesday on train No 19 en rout for Houston, where Mrs. Brown resides. We Vere certainly sorry sor-ry to see them leave, the children chil-dren in particular were very familiar fa-miliar around town. |
