Show 1 1 XCK L1C V HAW KX IXGS Two meetings have been called for all those who are interested in the forming of a Farmer's Union. At these meetings a scheme was discussed dis-cussed about building a structure in which to store alfaifa seed and grain until the right price is paid for it. This is a plan to bring the fanners together so that they can get the best prices going for their crops. Wre think this a splendid movement for the farmer, so all join bands and push it until it becomes a reality. All the "Old Star" basket ball players of Hinckley that used to attend at-tend the Academy played the Academy Acad-emy the other night and the Academy Acad-emy five won by a majority of two points. A Thanksgiving dance and party was held at the Academy gym. One of the most laughable and enjoyable times that the married folks have had for some time was enjoyed then. Games, dancing and basket ball were had. The men chose up sides and played a rough and tumble game and then the married ladies played with the unmarried girls and won, by a large majority. Those who were not there missed a circus. Last Wednesday was the school election, and at this writing the result re-sult is not known. Mr. Welch and Miss White have returned from their stay on the East Side and expect to remain here for the winter. Mr. Ferrall and his carpenter crew have returned from out West, where they have completed their work on the new school houses there. Simon Webb and his daughter, Alta have gone to Salt Lake, also Pres. A. A. Hinckley. Alma Laugston and Sam Webb have gone to Keg Springs to cut posts and explore that country. Mr. Emmett has gone to St. Geo. to attend the funeral of his sister. The Home Economics Association of Sutherland will meet with Mrs. Davis on Thursday, December 14th, at 2:00, p. m. Miss White will meet with us. An interesting meeting meet-ing is assured. Mrs. Iioardman, Pres. J. H. Peterson, of the South Tract has bought a new Maxwell car. J. C. Works, the drayman, has been quite sick for the past week. Mrs. W. L. Lackynrd entertained entertain-ed the O. Z. O. club Wednesday night. |
