Lowell is holding down their farm here, feeding the cows and pigs and hanging out his own washings. Someone lias said that it is hard to get some men to talk, but that all women are self starters. start-ers. The South Tract pretty gene ally bunched up on Thanksgiving day at various places- and partook par-took of the rojal turkey. We don't kncnv where they all located locat-ed but the following bunch of good feeders and merry makers gathered at the pleasant home of I Mr. and Mrs Burt Whitmore and of course had a licken good time and a fine dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hardin. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hire and Mr. and Mrs. Will Evans. Then to end such a day of Thanksgiving right and show their appreciation of it, they all went to the dance in Delta and had a good time. Mr. N. II. Folsom and his brother bro-ther Will, his son Lonzo and Fred Keim, took a team each and went up to the Sevier Bridge dam to work. They will put in some time there if all goes well with them. Leo Thurston has made a big step in the right direction for hog raising. He sent up to Logan Lo-gan to our State Agricultural School and got him a No 1. Poland Po-land China gilt. She is registered register-ed and recorded and her progne;' will be also. I did not learn her name. Leo will soon be' on the market with fancy stock to suit any purchaser. He says the best is not too good, Elmer Dixon, working for Coffin and Lane of Salt Lake, has located here on their farm and his wife and family will soon join him. Lewis I. Beck has gone to Oakland Calif, to visit his' sister and uncle and the fair. He will be gone about three weeks. Some of our farmers are feeding feed-ing their hogs on sugar beets and claim that they are of more value as a feed than for s igar. The hogs certainly do well on them. Rev. Hamilton and Dr. Taden are holding a series of meetings at our school house. The meetings meet-ings were good and instructive and should have been better patronized. pat-ronized. W. H. Tomlinson is visiting his folks and the old home in Illinois. He went home to help his father get the corn out. Don't forget the farmers' Rotnd-up at Delta. The only way to get the moat benefit from it is to be a regular attendant. |
