Show Attorney Melville Wins Important Land Case In the case of Wm. B. Shaw, contestant, vs. Rachel II. Cox, contestee, involving the right of an as assignee to claim the benefit of improvements made on a desert entry by her assignor, as-signor, prior to the assignment, was decided by the Register and Receiver of the U. S. Land Office at Salt Lake, in favor of the contestee, con-testee, who was represented by Mr. Melville; the contestant appealed ap-pealed the' case to the commissioner commis-sioner of the General Land Office Of-fice at Washington, D. C. who reviewed the case on appeal on written briefs and arguments submitted by counsel for the respective re-spective parties, and last week decision was handed down affirming af-firming the decision of the land officials. |
