Show of itself and we will then want a permanent fair ground which can be easily reached by all in the valley. A place located on the reservoir and fixed up nicely with shade trees and places of amusement would be ideal for fairs, Fourth and Twenty-fourth celebrations, picnics, family reunions re-unions and organizations of all kinds. Besides it would be used for Sunday outings and recreation recrea-tion days. Probably the best way to handle hand-le the matter would be as a stock company. But that would be for the people at large to say when they met in convention. What do you say? Can we, or can we not have a beautiful park and common meeting place for this great and growing community? Park Needed. Can We Build It? One of the greatest needs of this great valley is a common meeting place which is suitable for a gathering of the whole country. A park at some convenient con-venient place along the Deseret reservoir where a dancing pavilion pavil-ion and band stand could be built out over the water, where row boats, motor boats and sail boats could be had for boating, where a race track could be maintained, were a bathing pool could be built. Nice shade trees could be planted and various other devices could be constructed construct-ed for the amusement and entertainment enter-tainment of the many inhabitants inhabi-tants of this great agricultural community. They could meet here and enjoy themselves to gether. ' This park should be so located that it would be convenient conven-ient to all the towns in the valley and the North and South Tracts. A place can be found adjoining the reservoir which, when it is properly arranged and the trees grown up, would be one of the grandest assets to the country we could build and support. If all the towns and localities would take hold of a proposition of this kind it would bring us all together for a good time now and then and we would profit immensely by it in enjoyment, in mutual intercourse and in knowledge gleaned. It should trend to bring us together for the good of the whole community commun-ity and do away with the little ill feeling that is some times lriani feat between localities". We have talked with a number num-ber of citizens from different parts of the valley and they are all heartily in favor of a move of this kind and believe it would be of great benefit to us all if we could gee something of this nature started. The thing needed need-ed to start the ball rolling is that enough of the representative representa-tive and public spirited people of the different localities manifest mani-fest an interest in the move and signify their willingness to take hold and make the idea a reality. Then a meeting could be called and the matter discussed and action on the plan started. We would like to hear from people of all parts of the valley respecting respect-ing the matter, and if they think the plan a good one and can be carried out, we could then call a meeting.. Someday before long, too, the west side is going to be a county |
