Show Prominent Visitors W. W. Riter, president of the Deseret bank, and Horace G. Whitney, business manager of the Deseret News, were Delta visitors last Tuesday. The gentlemen gentle-men came down from Salt Lake to the big dam, which conserves the water for the "Greater" Delta Country, with Mr. Kimball, Kim-ball, one of the men behind the Sevier Land & Water Co. At the dam they stopped and inspected in-spected the structure and the work going on there. They were highly pleased with the appearance appear-ance of things and substantial work which is being. done there to secure the safety of this great irrigation district's water supply. Uncle Jim Melville accompanied the gentlemen from the dam to Fillmore Monday evening and brot them over the ground proposed pro-posed to be irrigated by the Sevier Se-vier Co. Tuesday morning. The fcaiubihty of watering this great tract of land with its rich level soil greatly appealed to them as well as did all the country coun-try they saw which is now under water, and they freely expressed themselves as to the whole country's coun-try's future greatness, and their believe that it is the greatest coming country in the state of Utah. |
