Show CONFERENCE AT LEAMINGTON Alma Harder, Representative. The last week has been a week of vacation and pleasure for the people of Millard County. The Mutual track meet commenced in Hinckley last Tuesday. A number of Leamlnton people attended and returned Just In time to attend conference at home, which commenced Friday afternoon with a relief society meeting and priesthood meeting at night, after which we attended the llrst grand hall In the new hall. The big orchestra pipe organ had urrived but was not set up, so the music was furnished by the Oak City orchestra. Saturday three meetings were held and most of the time was spent In giving the reports of the different organizations, or-ganizations, and closed with a big ball at night. Many people from all parts of the county were there and all had on enjoyable time. Sunday morning the house was packed, over four hundred being present, pres-ent, although another hundred might have got In had they have been there.' Apostle Lyman took up the entire time and gave some very good instructions. instruc-tions. The Oak City choir did the singing. At the opening of the Sunday Sun-day afternoon meeting the Oak City choir sang the dedlcatorlal anthem that was sang at the dedication of the Salt Lake Temple. They are to be commended for their good singing. Joseph T. Flnllnson was chosen to fill the vacancy In the Stake presidency presi-dency which occured by the death of Freoerlck It. Lyman of Oak City. A Mutual meeting was held Sunday night at which a short program was rendered and three returned missionaries mission-aries gave their report. Elder Orson Erlckson of Deseret, from the Southern South-ern States mission, Tennessee conference, confer-ence, related some experiences that occur In real missionary labor. Sam Kutherford of Oasis, from the Western West-ern States Mission and Fred Strong of Sc'plo. from the Northwestern States Mission, all gave a good report, and said the best time of their lives were spent In the mission Held. The Studebaker Company has just unloaded two new wagons and four buggies at Leamington and have already al-ready made two sales. Also another piano for Joseph Nlelson. Hanceny Lovell has been very III for the past week, also Fergus Mc-Cardell's Mc-Cardell's baby, but both are on the Improve now. |
