Show J. E. Steele of the Hub Merc, informs us that he will erect some stalls at the Hub Merc, feed yards where freighters from the East side coming to Delta can have stable room for their stock while here. This will give those who come here for freight an opportunity to get their stock in out of the weather while they are loading. David Rosenbaum came in the last of last week and will be on his farm on the South Tract for the next few months putting in his spring crops. Mr. Rosenbaum Rosen-baum divides his time between the ranch and his business interests inter-ests in Brigam City. He reports lots of snow still on the ground in that locality. Suit has been entered by the MillaAl County Land & Water Co., of Clear Lake, Lit., succes-ors succes-ors of the Swan Lake Reservoir & Canal Co., who filed water rights on Sevier water in 1892, against all Sevier River water users who have filed since then for the adjudication of their water wat-er rights. Last week the Millard' County School Board held their regular monthly meeting at the county seat and transacted the various matters of business but took no farther action on the matter of school buildings. The Board yill meet on the seventh of March in special session when they will take up the building of ths Delta school and arrange for raising money to carry on the work. Thurston. Dale, accompanied by two of his uncles came in from Orange Cali., last week. He with a brother have purchased purchas-ed land three miles northwest of Sugarville and Mr. Dale and his uncles are now busy putting up houses on the places. The brother is also expected here soon to take up his residence on his place. Bishop E. Maxfield left this morning for the Sevier Bridge dam where he will begin operations oper-ations for pursuing the construction con-struction work on the dam. Some work1 is now going on and Mr. Maxfield says that work is expected to be in full swing by Monday and that it will be July before the work is all finished up. Bob Whicker finished a well for the editor last Friday and with Bob, when he gets started it is a ' case of "off again on again, gone again, Flannygin" as he don't tarry long when he gets busy on a well. He had some repairs to make on the drill and engine, and when he got them to working to his liking lik-ing he brot water to the surface from a distance of 165 feet, in two days. The Delta Basket Ball team went to Leamington last Tuesday evening and played ball with the Leamington boys but didn't bring back any scalps. The score was 23 to 32 in favor of the home team. The boys have no apologies apolog-ies to make, but stated that the people of Leamington treated them the best ever. Dr. C. A. Broaddus was here the first of the week arranging for an office in Delta in the building with the dentist, three doors west of Kelly Hotel. Dr. Broaddus' Delta office hour9 will be from 3 to 5, p. m., Tuesdays and Fridays. This will enable Delta patients to consult the doctor or have their eyes examined ex-amined without making the long trip to Hinckley, On account of the frequency ot emergency calls, it is wiser for patients from a distance to make special office appointments by telephone. Walter Bagshaw and wife x left Tuesday for the dam where he will work on construction. Mrs. A. D. Ryan and little son were in Delta Wednesday visiting visit-ing and having some Denta work done. J. W. Robbins went to Sugarville Sugar-ville the first of the week where he will plaster the office room ol the Bonneville Lumber Co. Gravel hauling and excavatior has begun on Uncle Jim Melville's Mel-ville's place preparatory to the erection of his fine bungalow. The Deseret Irrigation will install in-stall a new turbine on centrifuga pump at the low-line head gates at the brick yard for pumping water on high land west of Hashimoto's Hash-imoto's place. W. J. Critchlow of Ogden, came in Tuesday to look after his land interests near Sutherland Suther-land and Holden. Mr. Critchlow was surprised to find spring sc far advanced here and says everything looks good to him in the Delta country. Jones, of Delta, of which we made mention of last week, died in Salt Lake the ' last of last week and was brot to ' Delta Sunday and buried in the ' city cemetery. The little one 1 lived but three days after birth, i Mr. and Mrs. Jcnes have the sympathy of all in their loss. |
