Mexico City. General Carranza, In an Interview on July 25, discussed the conference to be held between the delegates representing Mexico and those of the United States for the pur-pose pur-pose of reaching an agreement relative rela-tive to the withdrawal of American troops now in Mexico and patrolling the frontier In such a manner as to prevent further border raids. General Carranza also discussed the economic, econ-omic, political and military situation In Mexico. When asked as to Mexico's proposal regarding the protection of the border, bor-der, General Carranza said that an effective ef-fective patrol on either side of the line by the respective troops of the two countries would solve the question ques-tion of further Incursions and that Mexico was ready to follow the lead of the United States in so stationing Ben. He paused before replying, and then said smilingly: smil-ingly: "I cannot answer that question at this time, but legally I have the same right to 'be a candidate as any other citizen of Mexico."
