Show Receive Discharges At Fort Douglas Ft. Douglas, Utah Discharged from the Army under the adjusted service rating plan at the Fort Douglas Separation Center Pvt. i Warren Barker, w hose parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Barker, live at Delta, 'Utah, is wearing 5 battle stars for campaigns in Italy, France, Ger-jmank Ger-jmank and the Pacfic. Incidental to his 26 months of service overseas he is authorized to wear the European and Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations Ribbon, Rib-bon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. Sgt. Byron T. Anderson whose parents. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Anderson Ander-son live at Leamington, is wearing 6 battle stars for campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Ar-dennes, Rhineland, Central Europe, Air Offensive Europe. Incidental to his months overseas over-seas he is authorized to wear the European Theater of Operations Ribbon, Unit Citation, Good Conduct Con-duct Medal and Victory Medal. Before entering the Army Dec. 22, 1942, he was employed for the American Smelting and Refining company at Garfield. Gail Warnick, PhM 1c was home ' on a short leave with his parents, M-S Oscar Warnick, during the deer season, and reported back to San Francisco last Friday where he was released from the service this week. He has been in the Navy 4 years ,of which 3 years were spent in the Pacific. His niece, Miss Patty Pace, made the trip to San Francisco with him and is visiting at the home of M-S Hilton Kelly. She and Mr. Warnick are returning to Delta . after he receives his release. Lt. Clair H. Porter returned home after receiving his honorable discharge dis-charge at Lowry Field, Colo. He had spent four years in the service, ser-vice, and was transferred to the Air Corps, and graduated as a bombardier in Nov., 1944. F0 Carl H. Whatcott is home on furlough after serving 10 months overseas as pilot in the 45th Troop Carrier Squadron in the European Theatre of War. Since V-E Day he has been transporting troops back to the U. S. with headquarters headquar-ters at Puerta Rico. After his furlough fur-lough he will report at Stockton, Cat, for further assignment. On his way from Puerta Rico he flew to Savannah, Ga., where he visited visit-ed with his brother, Lt. Garth N. Whatcott, who is stationed at the ' Chatham Field. Cpl. Dale Tolbert and his mother, moth-er, Mrs. Francis Tolbert, two aunts, : Mrs. Rosetta Young and Mrs. Elizabeth Eliz-abeth P. Berry, and Miss Jean Overson, made a trip this past week, visiting Logan, Salt Lake City, Kamas and in Provo. Benjamin L. Gardner live at Delta, Utah, is wearing battle stars for campaigns in the Philippine Islands. Is-lands. Dwight Moody has been given giv-en a medical discharge from the I Army at Fort Logan, Colo. He had served about six months in the So. ' Pacific. He is now attending the ! BYU. I Cpl. Wesley H. Shipley of Oak City has been honorably discharged discharg-ed from the Army at Santa Ana, Cal. He is a veteran of 38 months of service in the Army Air Froces. He served in England during his 27 months overseas. The AAF was awarded him the Presidential Unit Citation and two oak leaf clusters and the European Europe-an Theatre ribbon and six battle stars. Brigadier General Arthur E. Eas-terbrook, Eas-terbrook, commanding general of the SAAAB, declared; "The fact that a man has served honorably with the AAF marks ! him among the cream of the crop. We think many of tomorrow's leaders lea-ders will spring from outstanding young men who have made up the victorious Army Air Forces." Warren McKeller, son of M-S Douglas McKeller (former residents resi-dents of Leamington) has just returned re-turned from Germany and is discharged dis-charged from the Army, having e-i e-i nough points. He is in Leaming-i Leaming-i ton visiting at the home of his grandparents, M-S Joe Nielson. S Sgt. Kenneth Porter, son of M-S M-S Leslie Porter returned home af- ter receiving his honorable discharge dis-charge from the Air Corps at Tucson, Tuc-son, Ariz. He spent 23 months in i service, 9 months of which was in I Italy where he completed his mis-; mis-; sions.
