Show Wounded Veterans j Will Visit Delta 5 Will Appear on Program i i And Victory Loan Bally i j Four veterans of World ! j War II, all wounded "In the j I service, will be in Delta on i i Thursday, November 29. A j program and Victory Loan j i rally will be held in the i i Delta high school that day, ! ( one at 1 p. m., for the high i ! school students, and one at j j 2 p. m. for the elementary i school. Townspeople are in-i in-i vited to attend at either ; i hour. ; ! Those who will be here are ' S 1st Lt. Robert H. Harry, who ! was with Gen. Patton, in j France, Germany and Lux- ; S emburg. He was wounded in j action and lost one leg. He ' ! has been at Bushnell hospi- ; i tal since June, and now has ; an artificial leg, and has ! learned to walk with it. j Pfc. Thompson and Pfc. ; j Jarvis are patients at Bush-! Bush-! nell, and both young men j lost both legs. They saw ac- ! i tion in more than one place ', ! in the Pacific and Okinawa. ; 1 An Army nurse, Lt. Good- ; j man, who was wounded on a hospital ship off Leyte, ac- I companies them. , ; Bud Fisher, state chairman of the Victory Loan drive, will be with them. Programs of this nature are being sponsored throughout through-out the state, and nation, so that we may visualize more ! fully the cost to these young people of their service to our country. Our cost will be a most generous support of the Victory Loan drive, to help 1 as best we can, by buying ; as many bonds as possible. |
