Show HINCKLEY HI NEWS . . . Basketball The Hinckley High School will play the Fillmore High at Hinckley, Hinck-ley, Friday night. The main game will start at 8 p.m. The line-up will include: Blaine Theobald and Jay. Cahoon, forwards; Wayne Blake, center; Russel Styler and Perry Taylor, guards. The Fillmore High team has two wins to their credit as they have beaten both Milford and Beaver. "Nevertheless we are gunning for a win," announced Coach Buchanan Buchan-an Thursday. At 7 p.m. Fillmore's all-star town team will play Hinckley's all-star, town team. Bond Drive Monday marked the opening of a two weeks' bond drive at the high school. The drive is being sponsored by the student council in the form of a contest. Two large charts are displayed in the lower hall, one listing the classes and their rating in the drive and the other listing the students. Wednesday night the Senior class rated highest on the class chart and Russel Styler of Oasis rated highest on the student chart. At the close of the drive a prize will be given the winning student by the faculty, for having bought the most bonds. Yearbook All the pictures for the yearbook have been taken and fifteen pages are now ready for the publishers. Individual pictures have been taken tak-en of the four classes and group pictures taken of the seventh and eighth grade students. The book will be known as "The Mustang". Interest in the book is running high at the school as this is the first year for three years the school has had a yearbook. Freshman-Faculty Game The Freshman class challenged the faculty to a basketball game Wednesday after school. The final score was 22 to 25 in favor of the Freshmen. Special Assembly Thursday at 11 a.m. in the high school auditorium, Oswald Johnson, husband of the English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, will be honored at a special program. Mr. Johnson is home on furlough. He was wounded on November 27 at the battle of Tarawa and was later awarded the Purple Heart for bravery. Mrs. Johnson received a call from him last week from California. Cal-ifornia. She later left to meet him in Ogden. They came on down to Delta this week. |
