NOTICE: The Ladies Auxiilary of American Legion Post 89 will hold a meeting to install their incom-ing officers, Monday, July 16 in the Legion Home at 8 p. m. All members but especially the old and incoming officers are urged to attend. Indies Auxiliary Holds Mooting The Ladies Auxiliary of the Am-erican Legion, Post 117, in a meet-ing Monday at their lounge waded through a great deal of business and lined up activities for the com ing weeks. Mrs. Louise Sly, presi- - dent, presided. Next Monday evening, July 16, they invite all legionnaires and auxiliary members to participate in a clean-u- p day for the lounge and legion hall. Clark of Bountiful, to Blaine Argene Robinson, son' of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Robinson, of Hinckley. The young couple are planning a home ceremony in Bountiful dur-ing early October. They will make their home in Hinckley. Mrs. Janet Wellington and dau-ghters .Barbara and Jane Anne, of Orem are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Judd of Delta. Leaves On UPS Mission Miss Blanche Billings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Billings of Delta, left June. 27, from Salt Lake City on an LDS mission to the northern States. She is working in Omaha, Neb. Her farewell testimonial was held in the Holiday Fourth Ward in Salt Lake City on June 17. Her sister, Wanda, is working in the private home in Salt Lake City where Blanche worked before she was called on her mission. literary Club Holds Party Ivy Allred, Dana Bishop, Betty Jane Morris and Belva Morris were hostesses to a party for the Liter-ary Club last Friday night. The party was held on Belva Morris' lawn. Games were played after which a chicken dinner was served. Mrs. Otho Bulkiey is a patient at the Delta hospital following an appendectomy on July 10. After Honeymoon Making their home in Salt Lake City after a honeymoon in the southern Utah park are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Turner. She is the former Connie Darlene Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sprigg B. Davis, of South Gate, Cal. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Turner of Delta. Amidst a background of lighted candlebra and banked 'flowers they were, married Thursday, June 21, by Bishop M. E. Bird at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner in Sutherland. Attendants to the bride were Mrs. Mildred Dore of Los Angeles, matron of honor; Miss Helen Tur-ner, bridesmaid; and small sister of the bride, Mary Dawn Davis, flower girl. Jack Turner stood as best man for his brother. Mrs. Haz-el Walker played the wedding march. Ushers were Gary Davis, broth-er of the bride, and Gary Snow, nephew of the groom. Dix Davis, another brother of the bride, was master of ceremonies. , In attendance at the wedding were thirty members of the im-mediate family. Tuesday and left for their home Wednesday morning. Mrs. . Ethel Skeem and , Erma Roundy along with the Club girls o'J Oasis are in the Canyon attending the 4-- outing. Mr. and Mrs. David Nichols spent Tuesday in Provo. LaVeda Bishop spent last Satur-day in Salt Lake City. The Oasis Garden Club will meet at the home of Erma Skeem on Thursday. Mrs. Ruth Dewsnup will give some pointers on flower ar-rangement. The work on the Oasis ward cha-pel is progressing nicely. The roof is shingled and the ceiling is in and new cement steps are in. Now for the plastering of the walls and we'll be about done. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petrovich and children, Don Lee and Barbara from Los Angeles, Cal., visited in Delta with their sisters, Reva Skid-mor- e and LaVeda Bishop and fam-ilies last Thursday and Friday. They have been visiting in Salt Lake for the past two weeks at-tending the Golden Wedding of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milan A. Hutchings. Mrs. Petrovich is the former Wanda Hutchings. Oasis Mrs La Veda Bishop Mrs. Lloyd Jackson and 3 child-ren from Orem are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Robinson on Cropper Lane. Mrs. Florence Williams, from Tooele, spent Saturday and Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Williams. Visiting at the Ed Christensen home now, is Mrs. Lucille Van Gundy and two children from Cal., also a niece of Mrs. Christensen's. Mr. Clark Bishop and son, Jerold went to Fish Lake a week ago and surprised themselves by catching a few fish. Mr. and Mrs. Al Zeneth of Los Angeles is spending Wednesday with their aunt Celia Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Davis and daughter, Calda from Kanarra, vis-ited with Mrs. Lillian Roundy on |
