Mrs. Maxine Bishop of Delta, 2nd vice president of the American Leg ion Auxiliary, Department of Utah, attended the tea Sunday in Kays-vill- e in honor of Mrs. Roy N. e, recently named president of the organization. Mrs. Kil'foyle has completed 26 years of service to the auxiliary. State officers from all over the state were there to pay tribute to her. lioeefBlioo For Newly Weds ' Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Warner will ' be honored at a wedding recep-- 1 ' tion given by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Warner, Thursday ev-ening, in the Delta Seminary. The couple exchanged wedding vows in the Manti Temple on Mon-day, July 9. She is the former Miss Luana Nelson, daughter of Mrs. Emma Nelson of Cedar City. They will make their home in Cedar City where they will attend the BAC there. Mrs. Merwin Shaw and son, Scott were Garrison visitors Sunday af-ternoon. BY GLORIA WALKER Mrs. Mildred Oppenheimer ar-rived home Tuesday after visit-ing six weeks in southern Calif-ornia. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Erickson have had Mr. and Mrs. Ray Claw-so- n and Mrs. Willis Miller visiting them. Mrs. Clawso.n and Mrs. Mil-ler are Mrs. Erickson's sisters. Visiting at the Leslie Porter home over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Udell Christensen and Mrs. Vernal Christensen of Mt. Pleasant. Kenneth Porter spent the week-end in Cedar City. Mrs. Al Miller and twin daugh-ters and Mrs. Josephine Sorenson of Salt Lake City are visiting her son and 'family, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sorensen. Margene Williams of California is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Derral Christensen returned home after a trip into Idaho. Mrs. Herman Munster and Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Munster have gone to Denver to visit Mrs. Char-lotte Munster King. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foote are home after a trip into Idaho. Speakers at the Sunday evening service were Merlin Forster and Verrue Theobald. The Harmonettes sang. Kathleen and Katherine Manton of Los Angeles are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ray Petersen. They are identical twin cousins of Mrs. Pet-ersen. Celebrating birthdays with ap-propriate parties Tuesday were Miss Jerry Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bennett, and Miss Nancy Munster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Munster. Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Bunker and Mrs. Delia Lisonbee were in Sevier county over the 4th visiting with many friends and relatives. Are Honored At Family inner Newly married Major and Mrs. Bill Hedricks of Alaska were hon-ored at a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Robin-son of Delta Monday evening. Mrs. Hedricks is the daughter, Sharon, of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rawlins of Alaska, and the granddaughter o Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Pace. Present at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Hedricks, Mr. and Mrs. Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Thurmon Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Pace, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rawlins. Major and Mrs. Hedricks will honeymoon in Mexico after which they will make their home in Vir-ginia where he will be stationed. Lorraine Pritchard of Ogden, spent the week end with her par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Les Welton. Mr. Hyrum Tanner and son, Craig spent a few days in Hinck-ley this week. Mrs. Lois Wilson and Irene Lewis spent Thursday in Spanish Fork and Provo. Larry Wilson came home with them to "spend a few days with his cousin Jay Wilson. Dave Stevens came home this week end. Friday and Saturday was spent in Salt Lake, where he and his wife are looking for a home. They plan to move in the near future. Marilyn Bennett from Meadow is staying with her cousin, Linda Lou Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Tuck Draper had as a visitor this week, David Sil-vers. David Hildabrand is staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whicker for the summer, Dean Farnsworth is visiting at the home of Lola Wright this week. They plan to be married in the near future. Kristine Hardy held a birthday party at her home. Many small guests were invited including: La Wana Workman, Eileen Bishop, Rita and Gwen Bishop, Janna Mor-ris, Sharon Hardy, Diane Brunson, Alice Gaye Bliss, Mike Cox, Mary Ellen. Cropper, Lewis Swensen, Ow-en Davis, Jeannette Hurst, Kaye Hardy, Linda Talbot and Judd Har-dy. Games were played and a lunch was served. Everyone had a good time. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Carter have recently purchased the Ferron Bliss home. They moved in last week. Gertha Bishop and husband spent Monday in Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Allred and family are in Canada visiting with relatives. They left last Sat-urday. Helen Cox and children have been visiting with her mother, Mrs. Oren Bliss for the past week. Wayne Petersen and Ward Pet-ersen left for Idaho Tuesday mor-ning where they will be engaged in work there for a few days. Mr. and Mrs Dean Talbot and small daughter, Deon, are vacation ing in Canada this week. They left Tuesday and will return Friday the 13th. Ed Theobald is in the Letterman Army hospital in San Francisco, where he underwent an operation on June 5th. His wife is down vis-iting with him now. Mr. and Mrs. Don Ireland are visiting with relatives in Hinckley this week. Don will leave here on the 15th of July to be shipped to the Far East. This will be his third trip overseas for the army. He has been living in California as a baker in the Tranis Air Base. Mrs. Ireland and four children will make their home in Hinckley until Don returns. Sharon Hardy is visiting in Provo this week with Diane Brunson. Mona Allred is in California vis-iting with her fiancee, this week. She left last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Aroet Taylor and family are vacationing this week in Yellowstone. Mrs. Emma Spend-lov- e went with them. Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Nielson and Joe and Carolyn spent last week in Twin Falls, Ida. They visited with relatives and went on into Pocatello, and other places to visit relatives. La Preal Olson of Ephraim is visiting with Clare Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Woodbury and small daughter visited in Hinck-ley this week. Oasis Mrs La Veda Bishop Mrs. Lillian Roundy and sons, Howard and Paul and her father, Peter A. Peterson and nephew, Russell HeWett left last Saturday. They went to Ogden and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lancy Peterson. Sunday they went on to Logan, where they met Erma, who had been attending Girls' State. She joined te party and they travelled on to Pocatello, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Art Simmons. Monday, they resumed their trip and went on to Yellowstone Park. They had a wonderful time and re turned to Oasis last Thursday. Rus-sell Hewett from Long Beach, Cal., is spending the summer with the Roundy family. Grant Petersen and son, Ronald, and Raymond Petersen and son, Paul, and their nephews, Keith and Melvin Stanworth went on a three day fishing trip last week to Fish Lake. They had a lot of fun and caught a lot of fish. It looks like Grant Petersen is leaving the fate of his seed crop in the hands of the powers that be while he takes time out 'for a vacation and it's may opinion he's right. Tuesday, he took his family and went to Beaver for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Don Webb. Norma Fae Howell is visiting in Beaver with her grandmother, Mrs. Amy Brinkerhoff. Jerold and Eccles Bishop are in Mapleton this week picking cher-ries. Miss Helen Jean Christensen is spending the summer in Nevada working at the Glendale Service. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nelson of Los Angeles visited with their aunt Mrs. Celia Christensen a few days last week. Mr. Clyde Kelsey, formerly of Delta, and husband of Viola Bond Kelsey of Meadow is critically ill in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. |
