Show Legion Alerts Civil Defense Measures were discussed for setting set-ting up a civil defense program in west Millard at the regular meeting of Post 89 of the American Amer-ican Legion and Auxiliary Monday night, in the Legion home. Ward Spendlove was appointed to head a committee to work with the various civic and church organ izations. A public meeting will be announced soon to explain just what is meant by civil defense and how it can be operated. Verrue Theobald, post commander command-er stressed in his talk the importance impor-tance of the proper respect for flag and its use. After the Legion and Auxiliary separated for activities, Lavell Johnson gave an instructive talk on the bills sponsored by the Legion Leg-ion in Congress, especially universal univer-sal military training. A plea for donating of blood for veterans 'was made by Mrs. LaVerne Theobald, auxiliary president. |
