Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mac Cone vis-ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Parley Deem on Saturday and Sun day as they were returning from California. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Tippetts spent Monday and Tuesday in Provo shopping and visiting. Alia Barney entertained on Tues day in honor of her son, Alan. It was his seventh birthday. Mrs. Lester Johnson entertain -- ed the Club on Thursday evening at her home. The time was spent at sewing. Those present were Maxine Owens, Zelda Ogden, Delia Johnson, Ber-tha Owens, Hazel Walker, Elaine Turner, Florice Sanford and Elea-nor Roberts. Miss Katherine Sanford and Miss Verlyn Moody and Mr. Gordon Moody came home for the week-end. All three are attending school in Salt Lake City. Evelyn Davis came home from the BYU to Visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis. Bert and Marie Jensen and dau-ghter, Elcee, visited this week in Tooele with Bert's brother, Mr. Auer Jensen. Sunday night Sacrament Meet-ing was under the direction of High Councilman Elden Eliason. Speakers were Mr. Eliason, Lathel Callister and Ray Gardner. Mrs. Ben Robison entertained at school for the birthday oi her dau-ghter, Pamela. Pam's birthday was Saturday. Delia - Millard Matmen Contest Saturday Might Delta and Millard high school boxers and wrestlers will compete Saturday night in a con-test in Palomar beginning at 8 p. m. Matmen from Delta high will be Leon Alldredge, Frank Grygla, Scott Skidmore, Robert Callister, Raymond Callister, Howard Hun-sake- r, Ronald Anderson, Jimmy Porter, Merrill Nielson, Robert Harris, Ted Fowles, Dee Bradfield, Donald May, and Brent Lovell. El- - don Poulson, stout d box-er, will not compete, owing to a knee injury. Millard will be represented by Richard Hare, Lee George, Alan Mathews, Robert Allred, Kay Iver-so- Fred Jensen, Hyrum Johnson, Owen Olpin, Dean Johnson, Eldon Warner, Albert Billington, Stephen Terrell, Billy Hogan, Earl Johnson, LaVae Smith and Blaine Hare. Legion Alerts Civil Defense discussed for set-ting Measures were up a civil defense program in west Millard at the regular meeting of Post 89 of the Amer-ican Legion and Auxiliary Monday night, in the Legion home. Ward Spendlove was appointed to head a committee to work with the various civic and church organ izations. A public meeting will be announced soon to explain just what is meant by civil defense and how it can be operated. Verrue Theobald, post command-er stressed in his talk the impor-tance of the proper respect for flag and its use. After the Legion and Auxiliary separated for activities, Lavell Johnson gave an instructive talk on the bills sponsored by the Leg-ion in Congress, especially univer-sal military training. They had been in old Mexico and across Texas, and expect to be in Delta this weekend. Their two daugh-ters remained in Delta with their grandparents, and will return later with their parents .to their home Mr. and in Walla Walla, Wash. Mrs. Arthur Barlocker, of Enterprise, visited in Delta Tues-day with Mr. Barlocker's sister, Mrs. John L. Peterson. They were on their .way to Salt Lake City to attend a commissioners' meeting.
