Show Hinckley Lad Is Wounded In Korea Nov. 5 Pvt. Lavon G. Terry, 18, son of Victor L. and Ruth L. Terrv, of Hinckley, was slightly wounded Nov. 5, in action in Korea, accDid-ing accDid-ing to word that has been received receiv-ed by the -family from the department depart-ment of defense. He was a tank driver. His mother received a letter during dur-ing the past week from a hospital in Tokyo, Janan, written by a nurse for Pvt. Terry, which said "I have a few wounds, but they are not too bad. It is better here than over in Korea. " Pvt. Terry was born August 27, 1932, in Salt Lake City, and was raised in Hinckley, where he was attending Hinckley high school until un-til he enlisted in the U.S. Army Sept. 1949. After training at Fort ORD, Cal., he shipped overseas, July 1, 1949. His brother, LaMar Terry, is also in the army, at this time attending an electrical school in New Jersey. |
