Peterson. Albert P. Wallace was writing the Burtner news. A. E. Gull, for Meeadow, W. R. Walker for Oak City, Alma M. Hoarder 'for Leamington, Josh Bennett Ben-nett was writing the Deseret news and J. B. Pratt for Hinckley. John Wood wrote for Holden, but so far it doesn't state who wrote the Oasis News.) Burtner The concert last Friday was a great success both financially and musically. About $20 was realized. Quite a number of visitors were present from neighboring towns and they expressed themselves pie ased with the entertainment .At the dance which followed the concert, con-cert, Miss Cooper officiated at the piano and proved herself a .player of ability. We have musical talent enough in Burtner to organize organ-ize a first-class orchestra. A girl photographer arrived at the home cM Job Riding Saturday. Mother and babe doing finely Mrs. Hele Mar Callister, one of Utah's Pioneers is visiting with her daughter in Burtner, Mrs. Helen Hel-en Mc Cullough. Grandmother Cal-ister Cal-ister has just recovered from a severe illness and is quite active for a woman 82 years old. Leamington The clouds have disappeared and we are having fine weather again and the farmers are busy cutting their third crop of hay. The lucerne seed is looking fine. Thousands of dollars of seed will be harvested this year in Leamington Leam-ington and on Fool Creek flat. Lyman Overson, with other members mem-bers of the family, have been visiting in Mammoth and Miss Mary Steedman of Mammoth returned re-turned with them and is visiting ' at the hotel. Mr. Fred Nielson has not been making trips to Mammoth Mam-moth for nothing, we believe. Oak City A Republican primary was called cal-led for last Saturday night, but everybody must have turned Democrat, Dem-ocrat, for nobody put in an appearance. ap-pearance. It was postponed until Sunday afternoon. In the meantime mean-time some of the leaders must have got busy and turned a number num-ber back to the ranks, for quite a turn-out was had. Joseph Fin-linson Fin-linson was appointed delegate to the State convention, and Peter Anderson and Joseph Finlinson are appointed to attend the county convention. Joseph L. Anderson , was made precinct chairman. Mr. C. C. Christensen and wife, of Aurora, Sevier county, are visiting visit-ing with relatives and friends in Oak City. Mr. Christensen is an Oak City boy and we are always pleased to have a visit from our old time friends. He was also the speaker at ithe afternoon meeting. During the past week Mr. Mian Day county fish and game warden, had placed in our creek 6,000 fish. We appreciate Mr. Day's kindness to us all. |
