Her and wife, and Mr son, Don Savage, and Mrs. Wib Roberts from Anti-mony, drove to Delta to take Mrs. Savage home. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Callister were in Salt Lake City from Thursda,. to Sunday, and attended the con cert by the all girl orchestra on Friday night. rlavs visiting in Blanding. Ciu'.aie l. ell's children, Akin, Clisbee, Alan, Lem, Zella, Wilma, Lydia, are here with their mother who is seriously ill. Sunday afternoon a music re-cital was given at the ward chap-el. The piano students of Mrs. Shipley played. Many friends and relatives enjoyed the afternoon. About 38 people took part. Miss Dorothy Nielson visited her home. She is employed at Ogden. Mr. Lennox Finlinson visited in Oak City over Sunday telling of the new son born, March 30, at Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Robison are home to teach again. Oak City Mae H. Shipley Sunday evening the MIA spon-sored the program. A play Tuesday evening was enjoyed by Oak City audience Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson have moved to Gunnison. He will work for his uncle John Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Allred have moved to Deseret. Mrs. Ruth Olson and Mrs. Don-na Anderson were hostesses at a party Sunday evening . 20 guests enjoyed the evening. Mrs. Glen Christensen and little daughter, Nola, visited Saturday and Sunday in Oak City. He had lived in Milford the past three years where he operated the Sportsman's Club. Before moving there he had lived in Delta sev-eral years, where he operated Fava's Place. He was born Nov. 11, 1908, at St. Anthony, Idaho, a son of Sam-uel K. and Vilate Remington Rigby He was married Feb. 26, 1928 to Verneta Waldram. Surviving are his widow, two sons, Fava Vernal Rigby, Jr., Pro-vo; and Chadley D. Rigby, Kellogg Idaho; five daughters, Mrs. Geral-din- e Cook, Kellogg; Mrs. Donna Christensen, Spanish fori?; uaisy, Pearl and Glenda Rigby, Milford; seven grandchildren; two brothers,) Rulon Rigby, St. Anthony, and d Rigby, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. Venice Hopkins, of Westwood, Cal., and Mrs. Belva Johnson, Altadena, Cal. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Mil-ford ward chapel by Bishop Clar-ence Tuttle. Burial was at St. An-thony, Idaho. Delta Mother Honored On 71st Birthday Mrs. Frances May Williams Tol-be- rt celebrated her 71st birthday on Monday, April 3. She was an honored guest at a family party Monday night at the home of her son, Clinton Tolbert, with nine of her children and their families pre sent. The evening was spent at games and a short program was given by members of the family. Refresh-ments were served at the end of the evening, and the large, decor-ated birthday cake, made by Mrs. riintnn Tnlhprt .was served to the 35 guests. Children present were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Tolbert, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tolbert, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tolbert, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mit-chell, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Tol-bert, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tolbert, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolbert and Mr. and Mrs Johnny Hesselgesser. Two unable to be home at this, time are William L. Tolbert, Gresham, Ore., and Miss Wilma Tolbert, Los Angeles. ' Mrs. Tolbert has been a Millard ' resident since 1906, when she and her husband, Sherman Tolbert moved to Abraham from Kamas, Utah. They pioneered at Abraham along with other families and ex-perienced hardships that were the common lot. Some years crops were hard to raise on account of ..nfor ofinHitinns It was a red-l-ter day for the whole family when Mr. Tolbert drove home in the first white top buggy in Abraham. Mrs. Tolbert is the mother of twelve children, one of whom died in infancy. Always active in the LDS church, many times she has gone Relief Society teaching on horseback, taking three of vher children. She was Relief Society counselor in Abraham ward for 17 years. Mr. Tolbert died in 1940, and Mrs. Tolbert moved into Delta to1, make her home in the spring of 1942. She is still serving as a Relief Society teacher, now from Delta Second ward. Mrs. Tolbert now has 58 grand-children and 12 ren. One grandson, one grand-daughter and one greatgrandson have been born on her birthday. Some of her married grandchild-ren were guests at her birthday party, and also a niece and hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Reed, visiting here from Los Angeles. Leaiafiliigtoii Mrs. Pearl Nelson The program in church Sunday evening was in charge of the MIA and a very good program was car-ried out. Talks were given by Fay Fielding Burton Hansen James Niel son, and Helen Quarnberg. Mrs. Ruth Finlinson and her sister, Mrs. Coleman played a duet and songs were sung by the ladies' trio and Bee Hive girls. Mrs. Enid Coleman from Salt Lake is visiting here with her sis-ter, Ruth Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Johnson and family spent the weekend visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oxel Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson and Ray spent the week end in Leam-ington. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Overson were v,oro over the week end to take in the veteran's dance. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans visit-ed in Leamington Sunday with Mrj and Mrs. John D. Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jackson spent the week end with Mr .and Mrs. Fred Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Rolan Larson visit-- 1 ed with Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Niel- - son last week. They have purchas-- . ed a new home in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Rube Jones from Milford spent Sunday and Monday visiting their daughter Mrs. Walk-er Finlinson and family. They at-tended the recital of Mrs. Shipley piano students, Sunday in Oak City Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Nelson vis-ited Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Jay Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Kelsey and son visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Oxel Johnson. att. Wrc Ppv Peterson SDent Sunday visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Dutson, and her children Helen and Burton and families. The Garden Club will hold a meeting Friday night at the school house at 8 p. m. All ladies inter-- i ested are urged to be there. j Mrs. Norma Nielson and girls ' are in Idaho visiting her parents for a few weeks. Dick itook them , up and returned last week. Mr. and Mrs. Dene Dutson and son visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dutson and son also visited in Leamington last week. Melvin Anderson is visiting his mother, Mrs. Nellie Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Parry spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wells Nielson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Niel Heyborne, who have been living at Wendover returned to Delta this week to make their home. Mrs. Louie Black went to Salt Lake City this week to attend the April general LDS conference. LaVar Ellis and wife and daugh-ter, who had visited in Delta with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ellis, returned Friday to their home in San Diego. LaVar, yeoman in the Navy, had been sent to Boston and now goes to San Diego for a spec-ial training course of 12 weeks, after which he will be reassigned |
