Show -Oak City- Mae H. Shipley Elder Rex Terry and his father, George Terry, were the speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday eve ning. Also Miss Beth Prestwich was present. A solo was sung by Miss Jane Terry. The meeting was very interesting. MIA conference visitors were j Ivan Shipley, Geniel Shipley, Dean Anderson, Emma Talbot, Melva Finlinson, Martha Anderson, Bruce Lovell and wife, and Mrs. Arthur Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson. Lloyd Olson spent the weekend at Oak City. His wife and children returned home to Brigham City with him after a three weeks visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Jacobson. Dan Anderson's Sunday School class held a party in the canyon Wednesday evening. About 28 ot the young people enjoyed playing games. Refreshments of melons, ice cream and cake were served. Miss Shirley Paice from Beaver is visiting with her sisters Ilene and Irma at Oak City. Mrs. Margie Talbot Chamberlain and children from Orderville visited visit-ed Saturday and Sunday. Her daughter, Irene, remained to visit for a week. Miss Merlene Lovell visited in Oak City. She attended conference at Salt Lake City and then returned return-ed to Orderville, where she is now teaching summer school. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence East and daughters, Eldula and Joleen, were in Oak City Sunday. Mrs. East and her daughters will spend a week visiting here. Mr. East returned re-turned to his work in Provo. Mrs. Wanda Nielson is visiting her parents also friends and relatives rela-tives in Oak City this week. Her home is in Sunset, Utah. - Mr. and Mrs. Irving Jacobson I had their grandson, Leo Brunson, from Fillmore visit this week. Also Mr. and Mrs. Faye Jacobson. Leo Finlinson had his daughters Madie, Isabel, Clara, Julia and their families visit him on Father's Fath-er's Day and honor him. With his sons Grant and Lyman and families famil-ies they held a really fine day visiting. Clara anl Isabel will visit a few days longer this week. Mrs. LaMar Dewsnup and son visited from Desereet several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil Ham Jacobson. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lish and four children from California, visit ed her sister, Mrs. Melvin Anderson, Ander-son, also their mother, Mrs. Blan-chard. Blan-chard. Mrs. Blanchard went on to Idaho with them for a visit with her children. The MIA spent Tuesday evening in . the canyon. Trucks and cars took all from 12 to 90 for this outing. out-ing. The MIA served punch. All present brought potluck supper, which was enjoyed. Songs and games made a very fine evening's entertainment. Fishing was reported good for the opening day in Oak City canyon. can-yon. Some poor sportsmen were checked for over limit and time by the game warden. Miss Verna Mae Shipley and friend fri-end visited in Oak City from Sat- urday and Sunday. They are from Salt Lake City. |
