Show Glen R. Elder Killed July 11 In Korea Action Private Glen R. Elder, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Parley Elder, oi Oak City, was killed in action in Korea on July 11. The telegram tele-gram bearing the message was sent to his parents Tuesday night and said a confirming letter let-ter would follow. The deepest sympathy is felt by all for the bereaved family in the death of the young man. He was the youngest of the Elder family, and the only living son. His death is the first casualty reported in Millard county in the Korean warfare. war-fare. His picture and a more detailed de-tailed account will be given in next week's paper. Private Elder was born in Oak City January 12, 1931. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in January of 1948. He had been in Japan before going to Korea. Surviving are his parents and six sisters:Mrs. Audrey Twitchell, Can-nonville, Can-nonville, Utah; Mrs. Fern Anderson, Ander-son, Murray; Mrs. Rhea McCorm-ick, McCorm-ick, and Mrs. Eva Bradfield, Delta; Mrs. Ruby Skeem, Oasis, and Mrs. Emily Justeson, Oak City. |
