Show Delta Firemen Speed to Fires Delta volunteer fire department responded to two fire alarms on Tuesday. The first, at 3:55 p.m. was at the Harry McCardell home in Lynndyl, where a pile of ties were on fire near the house and garage. The .firemen made it to Lynndyl, Lynn-dyl, 17 miles, in 18 minutes, and found the fire about out, and completed com-pleted the job. They hadn't been back in the station long when the second a-larm a-larm came at 5:15. This time the blaze was out at the Orvil Jef-fery Jef-fery farm on the Fillmore road, where a spark from the boiler in the slaughterhouse had set fire to a corral and shed. Considerable water was used in thoroughly quenching this fire, which caused 'damages of close to $50. |
