Mem- - Sisters Visit Over Holidays Five of six sisters visited in Del-ta over Sunday and Monday, when Mrs. Sylvia Blake, from Woods Cross, and Mrs. Myra Steele and Mrs. Verda Hudson, from Salt Lake City, visited Mrs. Nora Knight and Mrs. Viola Law, and their broth-ers, R. L. Turner and Orval Turn-er, and families. Another sister, Mrs. Melba Blackburn, of Great Falls, Montana, was not present for this visit, and a brother, Loren, was in Wayne county. This was their first visit in sev-eral years, and they visited- old friends from their earlier years in Delta. Mrs. Blake was at one time an employee of the Chronicle, in 1916, when C. O. Davis was owner and editor. Family Home For Visit Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Mortensen had 29 members of their family at home Sunday evening for a fam-ily dinner and visit, with 8 of their 9 children here, and and grandchildren. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Dee Smith, and son and daughter, from Oakland, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Mortensen, and daugh-ter, from Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hedquist, and son, from Provo, and the children from Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mortensen, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mortensen, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mortensen, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Spendlove, and families, and Elwood Mortensen and son, Harlo. Mrs. Elwood Mortensen and Col-leen went to Cedar City Sunday, where Colleen has summer em-ployment and her mother was vis-iting. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Smith and children left Delta Wednesday morning to return to their home at Oakland, by way of Las Vegas. 4-- H Girls tT" Movie Offer Attention all 4-- .Club Girls! FISH STORY ....A fish story that has us green with jealousy is the true one N. E. Ward, who caught two bass.. Tuesday at the Diversion Dam, one weighing 4 pounds, and the other 3 and 34 pounds. The dam is being whipped to a froth right now, between hopeful fisher-men md Wednesday's rainstorm. .. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Snow over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Seymour P. Fish, and children, Gerald and Kathleen. Mr. Fish is superinten-dent of schools, at Overton, Nev-ada. They left Sunday to go on to the BYU, and shortly after their departure other Overton residents arrived, Bishop and Mrs. Milton S. Earl, and daughter, Janice, return-ing to Nevada. Miss Earl had been attending the BYU and was return-ing home. OAK CITY At Sunday evening services, the Scout visitors were present. They . were Arthur Reeve, Lionel Taylor and Waldo Warnick. A good pro-gram was enjoyed. The Primary graduated the Sea gulls and Guides. Those graduating were Austin Lovell, Monte Nielson, and Leo Brunson. Glenda Talbot, LuOna Talbot, Diane Harris, Cherr-- , ie Alldredge and May Von Dutson. The Lark class made corsages and presented to the graduates and Primay officers. Four out of five Professors voted her high honors. One Professor wrote her parents, complimenting them on their daughter's achievement. We all with to congratulate Mavis. Miss Genevieve Eliason is home, after teaching school at Spanish Fork. Mrs. Porsha Jensen and children and Mrs. Loa Hansen, spent Sun-day, at the home of Mrs. Norma Hansen. Mrs. Mae Petty and daughter, of Nephi, spent Monday and Tuesday, with ohn Bennett and other rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. LaMarr Brunson, and family, from Fillmore, spent Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Western. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Leone Croft, spent Sunday in Richfiedl. Mr. and Mrs. Leone Jackson and Mr. Henry Jackson and Mrs. Lola Bishop, from Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dee Bennett, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Bennett. A surprise party was given on Tuesday evening at the home of Inga Black for the retiring Presi-dency of the Primary; who are: President, Myrle Bennett, and coun-selors Inez Damron and Winona Dutson. Games were played and a lovely lunch was served by Inga Black, Vonda Moody, Eunice Black and Therza Webb. Others who were present were: Carole Warnick. Jay and Tra Lee Cropper, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Cuman Cropper, underwent Tonsil operations, on Tuesday, at the Delta hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace and daughter, Marlyn, went to Hannah, Utah, to visit Mrs. Mace's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilcken. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup and Henry Kent, are spending a few days in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Knight, from Salt Lake City, spent the past weekend in Delta, driving down with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Knight, from Idaho Falls. Mrs. Becky Nelson and Mrs. Mag-gie Perry returned to Cedar City last Thursday, after a visit in Del-ta with their mother, Mrs. Hary Ann Corry. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Dorius drove from Salt Lake City to Delta to visit Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stapley over the weekend. Two More ' Receive Begrees PROVO An additional student from Delta and one from Hinckley were among the 637 students who received degrees at Brigham Young University's commencement exer-cises June 1. Roland Kenith Robins of Delta will receive a bachelor of arts de-gree from the college of Arts and Sciences with a major in chem-istry and a minor in mathematics. Grant Bennett Woodbury of Hin-ckley, will receive a bachelor of science degree from the colloge of Commerce. His major is accounting and his minor is economics. The party intend to do some deep sea fishing before re-turning home. This trip is by way of celebrating the boys gradua-tion from high school, an event the proud fathers were compelled to miss out on in the interests of business.
