Show Post 89 Marks Armistice Day With Banquet Post. SO, American Legion and Auxiliary held their annual banquet ban-quet marking Armistice Day on Thursday night. The banquet was held in the Hinckley hot lunch room, with one hundred guests around the table. . Patriotic colors decorated the long tables, and pine boughs were hung above the windows. At a spec ial table were seated twenty-three. Gold Star mothers and fathers, guests of honor for the occasion. They were Mr. land Mrs. Lawrence Abbott, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen, Jen-sen, Mr. and Mrs. J. Avery Bishop, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson, Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Bunker, Mr. and Mrs. Frelen S. Shurtz, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton, Mr. and Mrs. George Roundy, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Gardner .and Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Roper. Carl Theobald was master of ceremonies and introduced the Gold Star parents, and officers of Post 89 and Auxiliary. The program pro-gram opened with everyone singing sing-ing the Star. Spangled Banner. After Aft-er the Preamble of the Constitution Constitu-tion was read, there was one moment mo-ment of silence, devoted to the war dead. Chaplain Harold R. Morris Mor-ris offered prayer. Readings were given by Mrs. Margaret Roper, Mrs. Leda Great-house, Great-house, and Mrs. La Velle Johnson. Musical numbers were two vocal solos by Ross Hilton, with Mrs. Douglas Allred, piano accompaniment; accompan-iment; "My Buddy," sung by Mrs. Marie Moody, land two accordion solos by Mrs. Zola Bunker. Responding Res-ponding to toasts were Ben H. Ro-bison, Ro-bison, W. C. Cole, Otis Walch, Dr. M. E. Bird, Dr. J. E. Stains, Nels Black, Will Killpack and others. Serving on committees for the party were George Cahoon, Fenton Gardner, W. C. Cole, M. H. Workman Work-man and Oarl Theobald. The ladies of the Auxiliary prepared the roast turkeys and food for the banquet with Mrs. Angie Cahoon, Edna Workman and Ardella Riding as the committee. |
