She went to Salt Lake, her daughters took her to the bus station where she boarded a bus for Yellowstone and was met by her son. Mrs. Mae Peterson from Bland-in- Utah, has been visiting here for a few days with her daughter, Mrs. La Forge Lovell and family. Also with her daughter Edie, in Oak City. Myrl Johnson from Provo came home to spend the weekend with her parents and attend the wed-ding dance in Oak City for Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whatcott last Sat-urday night. She was acccompanied by her fiaince, Vern Young, from Hunting-ton, and some of her missionary friends, Mr. Taylor of Twin Falls, Idaho and Mr. Olson of Mesa, Arizona. Miss Rae Nielson from Salt Lake visited here last Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson. The Young Men's MIA has been reorganized. The new officers are Kenneth Nielson, president; Rich Finlinson, first counselor, and Dean Harrier, second counselor. The out going officers were Rulon Dutson, president; and Jay Quornberg and Glen Harder, counselors. A party was held on Tuesday for the opening of Mutual. A program followed by games and a weiner roast was enjoyed by all present. Those that attended the Mutual convention held in Fillmore last Sunday were Kenneth Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Harder, Joseph T. Finlinson, Wanda Nielson, Freda Hansen, Grace Fielding, Rich Fin-linson and George Evans. Mrs. Margaret Bradfield enter-tained at a luncheon at her home honoring Miss Lilace Christensen of Mayfield, Utah. The other guests were Opal Lambright, and Laura Bradfield from Lynndyl and Doris Bradfield from Leamington. Mrs. Margaret Ritchie has been quite ill this week. We hope she will soon be better. Mrs. Reuben Nelson just return-ed home from a pleasant trip, vis-iting with her sister, Mrs. Verl Johnson in Billings, Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Dene Dutson and son, Monty, from Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dutson and son of Provo, visited here Sunday. The occasion was their father's birth-day (Leonard Dutson) also the birthday of his grandchild, Bryan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dutson, and the baby's great grandfather, Mr. Whatcott of Lynndyl. A fam-ily dinner was enjoyed and gifts were exchanged in honor of the birthdays. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Quornberg spent last Sunday in Scipio. They took her sister, Pauline and child-ren to their home in Orem. Pauline has been visiting in Scipio with her mother the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Claud McGuire and infant daughter from Salt Lake, came to visit over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Williams from Fillmore visited Sunday with his parents. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lovell over the weekend were their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Welden and baby, and some friends, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wright from Salt Lake. First by far with a postwar car! f CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT A JOINT RESOLUTION G TO AMEND ARTICLE 1, SECTION 13 OF THE CON-STITUTION OF THE STATE CF UTAH, RELATING TO PROSE-CUTION BY INFORMATION OR INDICTMENT AND TO GRAND JURIES. Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Utah, two-thir-of all members elected to each of the two houses voting in favor thereof: Section 1. It is proposed to amend Article 1, Section 13 of the Constitution of the State of Utah to read: Section 13. Offenses heretofore required to be prosecuted by in-dictment, shall be prosecuted by information after examination and commitment by a magistrate, un-less the examination be waived by the accused with the consent of the State, or by Indictment, with or without such examination and commitment. The formation of the grand jury and the powers and duties thereof shall be as pre-scribed by the Legislature. Section 2. The Secretary of State is directed to submit the proposed amendment to the elec-tors of the State of Utah at the next general election in the man-ner as provided for by Article 23, Section 1, Constitution of Utah. Section 3. If adopted by the electors of this state, this amend-ment shall take effect the first day of January, 1949.
