Show SCHOOL WORK FOR EVERY MAN AT THE O.A.C. A sbortr'practlcal course designed primarily for field men of tho Western West-ern Sugar companies but open to all prepared to take It, has been organized organ-ized by the Utah Agricultural Col- lege to begin January 7. This special work has been arranged ln answer to a direct appeal from the sugar factories fac-tories themselves that instructional work adapted to the sugar 'field men bo offered. A similar course, which met with great success, was offered last year to tho representatives of tho Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho Sugar Company ln response to a request from that company. This year the scope ot tho work has been enlarged and It has been opened to all. During the course, tho big annual round-up will bo held at the institution institu-tion at which much work ot special Interest to the sugar beet grower and sugar manufacturer will be given. It is expected that practically every ev-ery sugar company in Utah and in Idaho will have representatives at the College for this work. Tho outline out-line for the course haB been formulated formu-lated from suggestions made by the companies themselves and will fit western needs admirably. Tho subjects sub-jects to be covered in the six weeks are as follows: 1. What the sugar beet is. How It grows and how it gets its food. 2 How sugar is manufactured by tho sugar beet and how tho sugar content Is Influenced by soil, irrigation irriga-tion water, and othor factors. 3 Soils and soil fertility.
