Show PRIZES ARE AWARDED IN GARDEN WORK The committee In charge vof tho Home Garden club visited twelve of the bost gardens In the city last Saturday Sat-urday morning. The purpose was to select the best gardens for the May prizes. After various points were considered, consid-ered, the following wero selected: Gardens 2 to 8 square rods: Margaret Affleck, first, $2.60 cash and, best girls' garden prize, 3-pound box of Jensen's best candy; Donald Sloan, second, $1.00 cash. Gardens, 8 square rods and larger: A. J. Kedgell, first, $2.59 cash; William Wil-liam O. Swlnyard, second, $1.00 cash. Vera Garft and Russell Ceder-lund Ceder-lund followed so closely that It was decided to give them honorable mention men-tion and each a small .metal flag, given by Noedham Jewelry. All gardens visited were In first class positions. They are splendid gardens. A similar visit would be beneficial to any person, not to say surprising to see what our boys and girls are doing In the way of production. produc-tion. Wo Invite the public to call and see them. Does your garden compare favorably? favor-ably? It It does, wo can outdistance any city in the state at gardening. It it doesn't, what reason havo you for being just a little behind?
