Conditions' H are sufficiently serious to mean much H to citizens looking for a clean and healthy town. 1225 premises were Bfl visited. These were scattered from H the cemetery in the northeast corner B to southwest street or West Field. a iue ngures uo nut inciuue uu iuu H town. A largo per cent of these H 1225 premises kept common outdoor H closets. A few appeared to have no H toilet conveniences of tiny kind. The H outdoor closets wero classified Into H four kinds: H 1. Excellent Dullt light, tight, prop- H erly screened or otherwise fly tight CG H 2. Good Building tight with good H door and not too largo, ventilation H holes open but too small 238 H 3. Dad Building with large ventlla- H tlon holes or with no attempt to H mako especially fly tight G16 H 4. Worse Simply boards nailed to- H gether without any attempt to H keep out Insects 172 H This shoWB about 62 per cent of H the homes visited contain closets not H classified as good or excellent and 71 H per cent of the closets found are unfit H from a sanitary standpoint. w Very few"barn-'wernound that W were excellent from the standpoint jH of fly conditions. There were a H number of these ,In good condition, B reasonably clean and then again, m there were barns where no attempt H was made to clean up. The number H of barns does not include small sheds and barns for hny only. Manure heaps around barnyards were also listed. Darns good , 225 Darns bad t 243 Darns with unnecessary manure piles ....' 268 Twenty-two per cent of tho places visited had manure titles. This did not Include the condition of the corral. cor-ral. Only those corrals wore "istod where a large number 'of animals were kent which needed special at tention. Some corrals In tho city where dairy cows are kept nre In such filthy condition that the cattle are scarcely ablo to walk around In tho corrnl on account of tho manure. In fact they could scarcely stand In It. In some cases tho) horses havo no better treatment than the cattle. Tho corrals are drained directly Into the water supply In a few cases. Of 46 corrals listed we found: Corrals In good condition 7 Corrals In bad condition 19 Corrals In a serious unsanitary condition con-dition ?, 20 The following data will give an idea of the conditions In tho town when considered block by block, tho blocks being picked, at random from the list: ' ,. t r Block D Excellent closet Good . qloseta Bad closets ........8 Good barns v v - , Bad barns ; 5 Manure pile 1 N.
