Show EARTHQUAKE IN GREECE DOES MUCH DAMAGE Paris, Oct. 18. Great damage was done by tho earthquake yesterday, tho villages of Kapnrelll and Pyri, near Thebes, being destroyed, accord ing to a dispatch from Athens. At Thebes the shocks wore accompanied by subternnean rumblings. The Grecian Gre-cian province ot Doeotla suffered most. Twenty distinct shocks wero felt there. Tho number of casualties is not known. Provisions and tents nro being hurried for those who, have lost their 'homes. In Athens the movements were felt for twenty seconds." Several bouses were' wrecked and the foundations .of. many were shaken. . , ' , Another dispatch says the. railway stations on the Larfsca Hue suffered much and much damage was done at P.luraeus. Atalanto and Qhqlkts, experienced ex-perienced sovero property losses. Shocks were felt in tho, Peloponnesus, Peloponne-sus, Cyclades, Kubooa and- the Ionian Ioni-an islands. r 7 A dispatch to the Exchange Telegraph Tele-graph company from Athena, says that hundreds ot persons wero burled under the ruins at Thobes.
