The I amendment accepted Btruck out the word "substantially,'' broadening the I scope of tho provision somewhat. Jm Senator Reed sought to prohibit all V holding companies and, stock purchases purch-ases in compotlng companies, but was voted down. Senator CummitiB offered offer-ed a similar nmendment, but excepting except-ing bunks and rallroad3, which also was defeated. An agreement was reached limiting iuturo debato to fifteen minutes for each senator on each amendment. |
