"If a crop is raised in Utah this year there la absolutely no question I but that it will be harvested, says Mr. Watson. "Not a little unrest and alarm la manifesting Itself in regard to' the labor situation, but while the problem presents and will continue to present many difficulties there is no., great cause for alarm. We have only to look at the achievement of our sister republic, Canada, who in spite of sending a half million men to the battlefields of Europe from her meager population of only seven million, has Increased her agricultural agricultur-al production substantially since the war began. What Canada has done this country can do. "During the present month a survey is, being taken of the farm labor needs of Utah. This survey will reach every farming community In thi-State. The results obtained will Indicate fairly accurately what our fara labor problem is, and will suggest sug-gest measures that will need to be taken to meet the situation." |
