Mr. May's at onco conferred with Chairman Hay who has chargo of tho army appropriation bill. Mr. Hay said that ho would agreo to an amend ment to tho army bill Increasing tho oniQunt carried In tho bill from J500,-000 J500,-000 to $2,000,000.
