Show Smithfield 2nd Ward Give Nice Social Smlthfleld, Aug. 0. The Second ward Y. L. M. I. A. gave a lawn social at tho tabernacle yesterday afternoon. The program was humorous and tho following took part: Reading, Miss Katie Cragun. Miss Llllle Peterson song. Imitating a Danlshmun's Kngllsh much to the nmusement of the crowd. Nora Klrkbrlde, Sadie McCiacken, Emma Hanson nnd Maud K. Roskelly sang n quartette and were called for an encore. Games were Indulged In and then lemonade and lunch was served. Much credit Is due President Roskelly nnd aids for the 'success of the social. Miss Meada Peterson Is ciltlcally 111 from typhoid foer. Miss Hlgglns Is also very low from typhoid. No hopes are entertained foi her recovery , Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Nymnn of Gieen-llle, Gieen-llle, wore visitors in our ward on Sunday Inst. Mrs. Gecrge Romney and daughters nio preparing for a vacation in Salt Lake City and vicinity. Moioni Price went to his farm' on Tuesday morning to stack wheat. While at work he was stricken with a sudden pnln In his leg. It became stiff and began to swell, and he stood leaning lean-ing on his pitchfork unable to move tho leg. He hailed a workman and with help got Into a buggy and drove up to town and called on tho doctor. Tho leg remalhB stiff, swollen and seems to be partially paialzycd. Mr. UuBh and family of Salt I,ake havo rented William Thornley's house. Mr. Bush is ongaged In blncksmlthlng. Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Larson are the proud parents of a fine baby girl. R. V. Larson, Alfred Erickson and families are enjoying an outing In Logap canyon and at Bear Lake. Tho Misses Jennie Smith, Charlotte Ncuberger, Llllle Wcnnergrcn and Miss BIschcr of Logan, were visiting school friends here on Sunday last. M. M. Fclsted has Just completed a fine up to date barn. Messrs. Thomas W. and Jas. A. Cragun have the contract to build machine sheds and a cow barn for George Romney, Jr. Richard Roskelloy has gone to Bluo Creek to attend to his farming Inter csts. Mr. Lofter BJarnason was In our city Friday last, negotiating with President Low of tho school board for tho salo of tho latest perfection heater for tho ono room school buildings. Mrs. Nowcy of Logan, is visiting tho Noble and Thornley families. Miss Aldaray Scrowther returned on Saturday from a visit at Preston and Weston.
