McCann, H an Injury to the Jaw from a rock H thrown by defendant In reputed self- H defense. The dispute culminating in H the alleged assault was over the right H to irrigating water on the day the as- 'H sault was committed: It was shown H during tho trial that Anderson was H using water that belonged to McCann H and when McCann objpeted, Ander- H son threatened him with a shovel and H the rock was thrown with the result H noted above. On Monday the Jury H visited tha A. T. Anderson lot to sec H lor themselves the site of the quarrel. H Tho adjournment of tho case was tak- 'H en Monday afternoon, the Jury being H charged. The dual word Is that Mr. H McCann was acquitted. H E. P Erlckson lost his youngest daughter Fridav morning from an at- H tack of diphtheritic croup. The illness H was of short duration and was not H rccognl7ed as serious until too late.
