Show Surprise at Mendon. Prominent Young People Marry Unexpectedly. Mkndok, Oct. 2!i. The town of Mendon imd one of tho biggest surprises sur-prises of the season yesterday. Miss Minnie Sorensen and Mr. Andrew Coolcy were married, and a grand reception re-ception was given last night, at tho home of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Soieti-sen. Soieti-sen. There was a laige number of relatives anil friends piesent, and all had a splendid time. Mis Joseph Ilaidman, Jr. Is very 111 with the quinsy. This is the second time she has Imd It within two months. Last night she had a scveie choking' spell which lasted over half an hour, but while she was lighting for her breath, the quinsy broke, but today it is gatheied again. It is hoped by all, that she will have a speedy lecovery, and soon be around a-jaln Her daughter Cora Is detained out of school for a few dajs. Mrs. Joseph Ilardman, Sr. is home again after a month Or six weeks In Salt Lake city and Kuieka. Mis. Ilardman sajs she had a very enjoyable enjoy-able time, and was ery glad to get back home again. Mr. George Lemmon Is hero from Salt Lake a few days on business. Ho has been bothered with his eyes for some time, and is in the city being treated by Dr. Snow. Last Sunday Miss Maiy Hoffman and Miss Winnie Ilardman gave Mendon Men-don a Hying visit, where they ic-malned ic-malned about two hours, and then returned re-turned back to Logan. Mrs. Mae Hendry, of Sterling, Mrs. Ellabetli Parker and Mrs. Lilly Housely, from Wellsvllle, were here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Willis Hard-man. Hard-man. The Piesbyterlan school Is closed on account of the teacher, Miss Huber, being called to Salt Lake city. Miss Jamima Foster, president of the Y. L. M. I. A. Is vciy ill with lagilppe. Miss Hannah Sorensen, of Salt Lake, is here on a shoit visit with her relatives re-latives and fi lends. Mrs. Jos., Newbold and Mis. Robinson, Robin-son, of Logan, were visiting Mrs. Marie Richards this week. Mrs. Alice Gallery , has returned homefrom Colllnstoq, where she has been visiting relatives and friends, Mrs. Williamson, of Wellsvllle, was here visiting her daughter, who teething school. Mrs. Helen Walker has been to Wellsv.illo all week canvassing for books. |
