Show Mahler's Railroad. Accoiding to the News "tho con-reienco con-reienco Is still on between Harney Mahler and tho Utah Light & Hall-wav Hall-wav company, with moie or piospcct or early settlement." However, The News Is of the opinion that the company com-pany being in the Intcrurban business himself, can hardly alford to do anything any-thing that will interfere with its own tialllc. TheTiibunesa)s: t'onfeiences between be-tween H. Mahler of Cleveland and officials of-ficials or the Utah Light and Hallway company pei tabling to possible track age rights ror the new Intcrurban company over tho lines of the city system, have been held for some days past and, although nothing has been settled yet, it is possible that a decision de-cision may be arrived at any day. Friday it was learned that definite teims had been offered to Mr. Mahler, but Ocneial Manager Campbell said, when asked for details, that it would be discourteous on the part of the home company to make public the oiler made, as it was up to Mr. Mahler to give out any inrormatlon. Mr. Mahler, when seen at his hotel, said that he would decline to be Interviewed, Inter-viewed, as matters weie still in the stage of confeience and nothing had been decided upon. It was unolllcially stated last evening even-ing that tho company was willing to give Mr. Mahler a tiackage right over tlie State slieet line fioni Munay to Flist South, thence to West Temple and out via tho Waim Springs line. Tills would give the intcrurban close to ten miles of trackage lights, would give it a station at Fhst South and Main, as well as at points between Munay and Warm Spilngs. It would also land passengers at the coiner of tho Temple block and at the west gate of the grounds, which would be a fine think' for conference visitors. Mr. Mahler, It Is understood, Is eager to have a trackage right on Main street; but there is no likelihood of tho homo company granting tin concession. |
