Show CACHE COUNTY SCHOOLTEACHERS Meet and Transact Considerable Con-siderable Business. Invitation to Parents to Visit the Schools. The Cache County Teacher's Institute In-stitute convened on Thursday morning morn-ing at 10 a. in. in room 15, at the Brlgham Young College. Fully fifty of the county school teachers were present. Supt McCarrey presided and Introduced Piof. Lyman, of the State University, as the speaker at the morning session. The professor chose as his subject "The Teacher," and It was as entertaining as It was "Instructive as he has a pleasant yet forcible manner of addiess. Many good points on school loom discipline, Instruction and care were given, and each was Illustrated by an example, In the discussion which followed Profs. J. C. Thomas and Apperley gave some Inteiestlng talks. 2 p. m. In the afternoon Miss Diantha Hammond and Prof. I). C. .lenson gave Interesting papers on the dally program. Miss Hammond discussed It from tho primary teacher's point of view, and Prof. Jensen took It up from the grammar grade Instructor's point. Both were highly Instructive talks, and were well given. Friday 10 a. m. Piof. A. N. Merrill gave a talk on "Nature Study In our Public Schools." It was well discussed and was of practical value to ail present, j Saturday. Invitations arc extended to the parents par-ents of the county school students to attend the trustees meeting today at 10 a.m. at the B. Y. College. Professor Wldstoe will talk upon the sanitary conditions of the school room and their appointments, also upon the adoption of agricultural studies in th2 district schools. Piof. D.C.Jen-son D.C.Jen-son will talk In the afternoon on the care of school property and that phase of the law compelling children to attend at-tend public schools. |
