Show Class Distinction. In one or the addresses glcn at the Tabernacle In this city a few weeks ago, reference was made to "class distinction" dis-tinction" hi Logan. Whether that really exists here to any great extent may be questioned, of, course, but if It does not exist at least In a small way then Is Logan a most remarkable city, indeed. However, it seems that In this city there Is less excuso for "class dlstlnetloirthan in many other places. Comparatle)y speaking, there Is not a rich man in the county, and ir the small acquisitions or all were not associated as-sociated with work or some kind, the financial standlngof most would soon become but a memory. "Class distinction" with wealth as a basis has no real room ror growth in Logan and the person who permits the bulge in his pocket to reach his I brain Is certainly most unfortunate That person gives up the real pleasure in life for a phantom Ihkii or a mind that needs a balance wneel. It is true that the sons and daughters daught-ers or parents possessing even nominal wealth usually have greater opportunity opportun-ity to develop tnemsolves along the lino or education and culture and in the fine arts, and it Is but natural that j- - , ', T77T... . , .' .Ufa culture, refinement, and intellectual capacity should seek like associations, but real Intelligence, vested In real manhood and real womanhood never made an Inferior feci that advantage to his discomfort. Arc you proud, arrogant, pulled up? Do you feel Just a little hit better than your fellow creatures? If you do, get down on your knees and beg ror light. As long as that feeling Is manifest man-ifest In you, you are no comfort to yourseir and no good to the world about jon; It Is the surest sign that you arc not the equal or your supposed Inrcrlors. |
