This Is a local, or branch, organization of tho Farmers oswiclatioti of the county already al-ready organized. The Murray and Mack performance at the opera houso Friday night was up to tho usual standard of the organization. organ-ization. The music was good, Murray & Mack better and tlio girls best. A feature of tho performance was the paper throwing Indulged in to such an extent that parts of the audience were literally covered with the little spirals. Murray & Mack arc alway popular with Loganltcs. The will of Johannes Nellscn has recently come to light and on Saturday Satur-day was admitted to probate. For some tlmo the will, which was executed exe-cuted by Nellscn some little time prior to his death, has been missing, and on the assumption that It could not be located, letters of administration administra-tion were issued and arrangements made to close up Mr. Ncllscn's affairs. Tho llndlng of the will made It necessary neces-sary to annul these letters and go about tho business in regular form. Over near Mcndon a man wanted Ills son to get up early and go to work. The boy had a habit of answering "yes sir" and going to sleep again. On this ocaslon last week tho father to make no mistake, called the boy, got the "yesslr" and then slid up the stairs, turned down the covers and gave the person a good spanking. It happened that on that night the hired girl had been given tho boy's room. When the tumult was over the old man sat down behind tho barn and drafted a written apology to tho hired girl. Simon Raker of Mendon the young man who assaulted Marshal Foster In Mcndon, wits tried before Justice Larson of that place and lined $75.00. This line appears rather light considering consid-ering the gravity of the otfense, when It appears from investigation that Raker struck the Marshal twice with the handcuffs, doing so when ono hand was liberated. Wo hopo tho young man with others will profit by this experience, and when at public assemblies, conduct themselves In such a manner that the otllccrs of the law will havo no cause to Interfere. Is arranging a course of Instruction In the Commercial department that will make It second to none between Chicago Chi-cago and the Coast. It Is a well known fact that Prof. Ruchell, the present head of tho Commercial department a the college, is. one g the very few lilgll-Up" eommewlal Instructors in the United State, and slnco his connection connec-tion with thl school It has been his desire to ItMko his department the greatest 'And most successful thing of the kind in the west. On last Saturday two boys who arc minors were found playing In ono of the billiard halls. They were arrested arrest-ed and lined $1.50 each. Good for the police. Mr. Johnson returned last Thursday from Scandinavia, where he was In tho mission Held for twenty-eight twenty-eight months. The R. Y. Miller Kent and his company com-pany In the "Cowboy and the Lady." The play is fullof comedy, Is lively and entertaining. It ranks fairly well with Clyde Fitch's other'produetlons, which have long been the rage. Kent Is a strong actor, and the company Is said to be well balanced. The Tabernacle choir will give a dance at tho Second ward meeting houso tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at 8 o'clock sharp. This pleco of property is one of the old landmarks land-marks of Logan City, and In common with all other city lots was filed on by William B. Preston In 1850, Mr. Rlanch-ard Rlanch-ard receiving the title from him. The title of this property has remained wltii ?lr- Blanchard until tho present time. It must seep to Mr, Rlanchard, like leaving h birthplace In removing re-moving from tho old homestead. "Taxpayer" Is a frequently used "nom do plume" behind which people peo-ple hide when they haven't the nerve to sign their own name, "Taxpayer" Is supposed to carry weight, with It, but It Is seldom known whether the person signing hlrr.self so Is In reality ono of those feViows or not. It makes little dlffeiccce In this case, for In writing of the Ilynun scrap and tho Mendon outrage, our sentiments wero clearly enough expressed for Intelligent In-telligent people to understand, and were written with tho idea of saving tho county a black eye rather than giving It one. We're willing to admit ad-mit that the present sheriff Is perfect in every detail and that It would probably pro-bably bo well to dismiss our police officers, do away with tho county court, and that It Is not necessary to spend any more money on the roads. Tho roads show up for that. We suggest that the affairs tf the county be turned over to this "taxpayer," who has lived hero so long, "Why sir," that would bo about proper. Dear old boy keep your baton, and tho county will survive In spite of us. Lars K. Larson of Hyrum was In Logan on Tuesday. A llttlo daughter arrived at the home of Mr. find Mrs. W. F. This senator Is one of the twelve who would not como up with the legislature when that body visited this city. He preferred to not be "bribed" by good eating, also to take a look at things at his leisure. The coming performance of the "Midsummer Night's Dream" by the Sorosls Society of the A. C. promises to be somethng better than the usual production of amateurs. Tho young ladles composing the Sorosls arc of the advanced and most Intellectual students stu-dents of the school, and they arc working work-ing on the play with a spirit and energy en-ergy that Is bound to bring a large degree of success.
