Show SEVERAL DEATHS Two at Hyrum, Two at Lewiston, and one at Salt Lake. Julius Johnson a well-known and much respected citizen of Hyrum, died at 3:10 p.m. Monday. The deceased deceas-ed had an operation performed more than a year ago, but never fully recovered, recov-ered, and his death Is attributed to t'ie cltccts of the same. He was 55 ycrs of agc,had made a host of friends diriiig his life time, and is sincerely mwirncd by the entire community. Mr. Peter Larscn, also of Hyrum, I passed away at his home at 1:30 o'clock in the afternoon of Monday. Ills dc-mlso dc-mlso was sudden and unexpected, he having been able to attend services twice on Sunday. Mr. Larscn was an old man, having passed four-score years, and his death was probably from old age and attendant weaknesses. weak-nesses. The old man had ever been prominent in nyrum affairs and was known as a good, kind, christian gentleman. gentle-man. A joint funeriil service will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1 o'clock. The sad news comes from Lewiston that the family of Harvey M. Rawlins is stricken with diphtheria. On Sunday Sun-day a two-year-old child died of that dread disease, and Monday afternoon a second child, fifteen years of age, succumbed to the same disease. It Is reported that another child is also very low. Funeral services were held flll'Sday. The wholo community sympathizes with the bereaved par ents, and it Is hoped that tho child now afflicted, with the balance of their family, may be spared to Mr. and Mrs. Rawlins. John Gleaion Dead. Our old and congenial friend John C, socially called "Jack" Glcason, Is dead. He represented tho firm of Harmond, Hocklday & Roc of Kansas City. Mr. Gleason died suddenly of liver complaint In Salt Lake city last Friday and was buried on Sunday In Sprlngvlllc, the former home of his wife. There never was a more popular popu-lar tra cling man in the state then he. It was sunshine every moment while In his company, he being broad minded, mind-ed, generous, and very sympathetic in his nature. His death came as a shock to his many Logan friends. We never heard of a merchant dealing with him but who spoke In the highest high-est terms of him. He was a line looking look-ing man, apparently the picture of health. Ills attributes were typified by his outward appearance. Words arc indeed vain upon occasions of this kind. Ills bereft wlfcand twodaughtcrs can rest assured that there arc many people in this vicinity who have a warm place in their hearts for the one that has departed.
