May It bo a success, for your correspondent Is very fond of dances, where supper Is served on the side. One of our citizens citi-zens lias something to overcome, for a person Informs us that there are people peo-ple In our midst who get very angry towards the hens, because they wont lay two eggs each every day. On account of so much sickness In the town the dramatic association has been Inactive for the past few weeks. They are now preparing to give the people a treat In the near future. Tho play now on the boards Is tho famous four act comedy "Uccause I lovo you." We feel conlldent that our home company com-pany will give all value received for their money when the play comes off. Mr. and Mrs. John Ladle were tho recipients on Friday evening of a social surprise. Quito a number of their friends and neighbors took picnic pic-nic and went to their homo prepared for a royal good time. They found Mr. Ladlo with his boots off, but he soon put them on and showed all present pre-sent a good time during tho evening. Tho program was an improvised one and'conslstcd of dancing, songs, stump speeches, recitations, step dances and last, but not least, a supper which all seemed to enjoy very much. Tho "Grim Reaper" has gathered quite a harvest in our town this winter, win-ter, ho having taken away three of our worthy citizens. The last to rccelvo a summons was Mrs. Amanda Sweeten, who died on Sunday, March, 0th, after an Illness of three weeks duration. The funeral services wcro held from the Mcndon meeting house on Wed. Mar. 11th. Tho esteem In which she was held In her home town was shown by tho largo funeral, and tho remarks of those who have known her for many years. Appropriate remarks were made by Elders Hughes, Andersen, Ander-sen, Uird, W. C. Cragan, W. O. Recce and Up. J. II. Andersen.
