Show NEW MONUMENTS AT HYDE PARK i Hyde Park, June 1. Decoration Day was observed here In a lilting manner. During tho day hundreds of people Journeyed to the cemetery and spread beautiful flowers upon the graves of loved ones. The braOB band was thero and played several tunes. Many people were using hoes and shovels, cleaning up the grass and weeds,tand beautfylng their lots. Quite a number of fine monuments monu-ments and fences now adorn our cemetery cem-etery and many beautiful shrubs and flowers now .bloom oe'r the graves. Flowers and trees could be increased very much if our city fathers would extend the water works In to the cemetery with a number ot hydrants In various places. Quite a number of people were present from Logan, Smitbfleld and Benson ward, as loved ones from all these places are buriM here. The Smlthfleld and Hyde Park base ball teams crossed bats upon the diamond dia-mond in the afternoon and as usual the Hyde Parkers were the victors. The score at the end ot the sixth Innings In-nings was seven to two in favor of Hyde Pak. The Smlthfleld team was badly handicapped after their catcher Martin Roskelley had his hand split open by a foul catch' of the ball. After the baseball game came one of basketball. The Hyde Parkers won this game also. Score Hyde Park 16; Smlthfleld a. The Smlthfleld boys are a good natured jot and took their defeat gracefully. Mr. Samuel Seamons received word recently that his brother Henry, of Salt Lake wag In a critical condition. The Mutual Improvement association associa-tion held a conjoint session tonight. President Jensen of the B. Y. C. gavo a very able and comprehensive address to the young poopie. Robert Cbrlstofferson gavo a comic solo; nnd Mrs. Vlnney Hawkes sang a solo. so-lo. Prof. Samuel Christensen ot the L. D.
