Despite tho handicap under un-der which tho talented young woman worked she was heard without difficulty diffi-culty except by those In tho rear of tho room, Her lecture was under tho auBpJces of the local Socialist party. Sho declared de-clared that sho owed her ability to the help of teach rs and said in part; "Wo aro all blind nnd deaf until our eyes are opened to our follow men. If wo had n penetrating vision wo would not endure what wo see In the world today. "The lands, tho llfo and tho machinery ma-chinery belong to tho few. All tho ork the)' do gains for tho workers mere livelihood. It Is tho labor of tho poor and the Ignornnt thnt make us refined and comfortable. I am no pessimist. 1 bellvo for tho light and and shall not die. It Is a good world and It will be much better when you help mo to make It more as 1 want It" |
