Tho business nnd pursuit of tho society Is to nld its members or stockholders individually In pro curing, retaining, and Improving homes, and releasing incumbrances therefrom, and also to afford a safe investment for subscribers. At the meeting n nominating commltteo com-mltteo of flvo wns appointed vhlch nominated twenty-two candidates for directors, eloven of which were voted for by tho subscribers present He-cause He-cause of the lateness of the hour i wns decided to call another meeting Friday night nt 8 o'clock of the subscribers sub-scribers nnd hoar the report of tho tellers ns to whom wero elected as directors, and then such directors will meet immediately afterwards and olect their officers. Slnco tho meeting on Mondny tho tellers have reported tho following candidates elected as directors: H. E. Hatch, T. Lcroy Cardon, Dr. O. Thomas, A. R. Rowen, P. A. Thatch or, J. O. Walters, H. G. Hay ball, Josoph Odell, and J. E. Cardon. Tho Articles provide that the candidates shall recelvo a majotlty of the vote present, it was therefore impossible to elect tho eloven directors, as only nine of the cnndldatcs received a majority ma-jority of tho votes prp"ont.
