The party returned home early and 1 Mn Ferry retired. No member of the family heard the report of the shot. Mrs. Ferry discovered her husband hus-band when she entered his room yesterday .morning. Sthfo Senator W. Montague Ferry i his brother, was notified at once and hastened to the home. The wounded man was hurriedly removed to St. Mark's hospital where he remained unconscious all day yesterday, llfs . physicians hold out no hope for his ' recovery. The bullet entered the right tern-I tern-I pie and ranging upward and back-' back-' ward camo out at a point just abovo and behind the left ear. It penetrated penetrat-ed tbo brain. Mr. Ferry was born In Michigan In October, 1872. After graduation from Ann Arbor In 1896 he came to Salt Lake and established himself In tne law business. He Is a member of the law Arm of Richards, Richards, Ferry Fer-ry & Hamer, representing the Utah Savings & Trust company.' A popular popu-lar club member, Mr. Ferry occupied a prominent place In local business I and social circles. Ho Is a member ' of the University, Alia, Commercial and Country clubs and" belongs to several fraternal organizations. Hon Franklin S. Richards, Mr. Ferry's law partner said: V'Mr. Ferry had been attending to business as usual and only yesterday was at the office. He attended to some routine matters and ho seemed ns cheerful as UBual. I have known for six months past that he was suf ' ferlng from Insomnia and havo -e ' quently advised him to consult a doc- tor regarding It. Former Governor Wells, ono oi Mr. Ferry's closest friends and business busi-ness associates said: "I havo met Colonel Ferry almost dally for months past.
