In his annual report PrcBldCut Eliot has this to say about the pensions provided for the widows of professors: "As n resource for a widow In cases of sudden disability or death, the possibility pos-sibility of a Carnegie iionslon is already al-ready a great comfort to men of small means who glvo their lives to the higher high-er oducatlon. It does not relievo men who can got their lives Insured from tho duty of bo doing, but there are some men with families who cannot get their lives Insured upon any terms, and others whose expenses are so near their Incomes that they cannot save tho money for premiums on any adequate amount of Insurance" |
